Artist Michael Fazakerley presented Nightbirds at World Of Wonder last night, a collection of photographic work that captured the New York City club culture stars and LGBTQ scene from 1988-1995. Now through 5/2.

The show was a hit! Having such an appreciation for the NYC club scene during the 80s and early 90s, it was a thrill to see all of the ORIGINAL Club Kids all together. So many iconic images of iconic people staring back at you was a trip. Lypsinka, Lady Bunny, James St. James and Michael Alig, all framed! Stars in all direction. John Cantwell, Brian Dare, Deven Green, Franz Szony, Brock Ciarelli, Drew Droege were in attendance and a great time was had by all.

It was a treat to be in the company of such an amazing group of art lovers and the artists themselves. Well done to the party goers that put their backs into it and put some thought into their ensemble. The crowd had a great vibe and there was just a tinge of that “good ol’ days” club feel.

Congrats on an exceptional opening and thank you for sharing this. The work on exhibition is an important part of club life and queer history. The Stonewall National Museum and Archives brought this show to life and we are glad you did.
