Suzi Moon Wrecks The Stage In Turbulent Hearts Gig

Last night Turbulent Hearts played a vicious set at Slidebar in Fullerton, California.

Suzi and her band, Turbulent Hearts took to the stage and absolutely killed! Their set was tight and clean. Suzi owns every bit of the stage and performs like she’s been doing it her whole life, which isn’t hyperbole. Fernando and I met Suzi when she and her sister Liza played in the locally legendary punk band Civet in early 2005. Suzi was just a kid. But a kid just in age. She has always been tough and ready to rock. We went to every Civet show we could, which was a lot. Once we drove from Orange County to San Jose for a one night gig. Totally worth it!

Civet gave Suzi the lady balls to go out and keep going even after the band went on a perpetual break. We hope to see a reunion someday, so we don’t refer to it as a break up. Further, you can break up a band, but you can’t break up with your sister. Civet also gave Fernando his chance to practice his first passion, live photography. We did promo pics for the band in most of it’s line up.

Today, Suzi is a grown ass woman. She has come in to her own and is a great performer and songwriter. We got to collaborate again with her last year the cover of the single “If Its True/I Don’t Do It For U” (Headcheck Records).

Suzi doesn’t just work in the recording studio, she slays the photo studio too. We have been able to collaborate on several artist portraits over the years. Her look is ever changing which is inspiring to a photographer as well as a makeup artist.

Suzi is a true artist. She is strong, smart and knows how to rock. If you haven’t seen her on stage, you are missing something special. So go!
