Hulu and Elysium Bandini, with James Moll were able to capture an authentic look at the life and work of Shepard Fairey in a new documetary, Obey Giant (2017). The back drop for the premiere was hosted by the gorgeous Ace Hotel Theater.
Shepard's story starts in South Carolina and follows his journey from his early days in college and being part of skate culture, to meeting his future wife, Amanda and the many problems that insue while creating his signature style of street art.
Hulu, Elysium Bandini and Moll were entrusted to bring a sense of respect due his story and did not fail. The energy in the air after the show was nothing short of inspired. Shepard's work ethic is an example to any artist. And it's paying off. The friends, fans and supporters showed up to show their appreciation for his work and watched the feature with curiousity and genuine interest.
Obey Giant is great movie! Psyko Boys definitely recommends this for inspiration and a way to stay sane! Out now on Hulu.
